Ipoh

Un bus du terminal de ferry nous enmène rapidement à Ipoh (non pas IpoD). En arrivant, il pleut fortement et nous attendons que cela passe avant d' harpenter la ville. Un déjeuner Chinois à 16h nous permet de prendre des forces. Pas grand chose à voir à Ipoh. Notre guide nous indique que c'est une ville attirante mais nous ne la trouvons pas si exceptionnelle que ça. Finalement, on aurait peut être pas du l'acheter ce guide que l'on a cherché depuis une semaine. Nous photograpions la gare, une mosquée, une école et puis un pont!
A bus takes us from the ferry terminal in Butterworth to Ipoh (No not IpoD). When we arrive, it's pouring and we wait a little before visiting the town. A chineese lunch at 4pm gives the strength we need to go walking. There isn't much to see in Ipoh. Our guide tells us that it is a pleasant city but we don't find it that exceptional. We maybe shouldn't have the guide that we've looking for over the last 5 days. We take a picture of the station, a mosk, a school and a bridge.




La fin de la visite se termine dans un centre commercial, ultra moderne, climatisé, et qui ressemble aux notres, en France. Encore un contraste en Malaisie: Des magasins européens/Americains cotoient boutiques locales vendant des habits musulmans, chinois et indiens. Le repas du soir est pris dans le centre commercial également. Ce sera resto japonais dans lequel nous attrapons de multiples sushis qui tournent sur le mini tapis roulant. "Arigato tapis automatique". Nous depassons notre buget habituel de repas mais ce soir c'est fête: c'est l'anniversaire d' Alec quand même!
We end our visit by going into a super modern shopping centre which compares to ours in Europe. It is again a contrast in Malaysia where European shopping malls are mixed with local shops selling Muslim, Chineese and Indian clothes. We eat our evening dinner in the shopping center as well. This time, we choose a Japanese restaurant in which we grab the dishes off the mini vonvey belt. "Arigato automatic waiter". We a little over our usual meal budget but tonight it's party time: It's Alec's birthday afterall!
