Pulau in Malay means island. So, our next destination is an Island off Lumut which is a 2 hour bus ride from Ipoh. While waiting for our bus, we meet Alexander, an really welcoming and nice indian guy, who cannot read, nor write. He's a driver on our bus route. We talk with him for 1/2h and he shows us his different note pads with pictures and notes that tourists have left him whilst meeting him. Here's one of the photos we'll send him.

After a 40mins cruise on the ferry, we take a taxi to get to the west side of the island where our camp is. We'll be sleeping in some mini wodden chalets. It's 6pm, just in time to go for a quick swim before tasing some delicious Malay dishes, such as an ABC which is quite a good desert made up with crushed ice, sweet corn and different juices. Torrential rain starts to fall, enduring a power surge, so we're obliged to get to bed quickly.

The next day, we eat our breakfast with 2 french people, Jérome and Nadège, our chalet neighbours, telling each other our travel experiences. Then, we decide to go to a dream beach and visit a chineese temple displaying mermaid, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and mushroom sculptures! Special photos for Alec's mum and Raphaelle's brother.

In the evening, we meet up with Jérome and Nadège and spend an excellent evening with a few drinks, home made cheese burgers (we can unse a common kitchen and what a change from rice and noodles), and a game of Uno (card game) which will finish at 1am whilst drinking 8 pints of "Tiger" beer between the 4 of us. Getting up the next morning is a little harsh...Also, mosquitos have being partying, drinking our "Tiger" blood. We'll leave a little note to our neighbours, hoping to see them again in the basque country, as Jérome works in the same town where Alec's parents live. The world is not that big!
